As a non believer in terms of „comfort goes over appearance“, i do have to deal with my decision on a daily basis. Feet do not want to be abused and squeezed into tiny pointed heels (thanks balenciaga, the 2000’s and my addiction) and it still seems impossible for me to find a right pair of sneakers. I know, it may appear so easy, just go get a pair of stan smiths you might say, or buy these nikes, they are so retro now with all their 1970’s designs being brought back to you. Or not. All in all their comfortable and thats what they all should be about. I would love to to be thinking like that, but i definitely am not capable of seeing one more of the aforementioned shoes, let alone on my feet. I definitely do not want to make it sound like i’m too cool for sneakers. I just can’t handle wearing shoes, everyones wearing. Yes, one of my biggest (and most expensive) weaknesses.
Anyway, i wouldn’t right about all this, if there wasn’t a solution for all of this.
Until recently i was in strong belief wearing designer sneakers was a mum thing. No offense to any stylish mums wearing designer sneakers. I get you know. Apparently the whole athletics trend overrunning the runways led to some pretty good examples. First, the asians got me with their style again, while i was in milan running around on a fair. I saw them on her. It was true beauty. And they were sneakers. Impossible for me to find out which brand they were from, i had to follow said women for almost 10 minutes. I still couldn’t see the designers label or recognize its design. Devastated, i gave up. No chance to find them anymore, might be a still foreign but so cool label from the far east, i thought. But then, there was this mall. I saw them right under the very famous skull heads of our beloved Alexander Mcqueen. And their it all started. The upcoming days i was searching for similar looking or lets better say, design worthy sneakers and i have found so many.
So please, do yourself a favor and change your Stan Smiths. They deserve a pause.
Without starting with all that talk about how important shoes and handbags are and what good investments one can make with them, because you will wear them for ages and how they will always be classics, i will deny it straight forward. Actually there are no good investments with designer shoes.
No shoe can be worth 900$. I know it. It does not make any sense. Not to humankind.
Still, though. I do not write this stuff to be rational or reasonable.
The only reasonable thing is, buying them when they’re on sale.
Which is officially not the case right now, buuuut some shops started, so why wait and why talk more, just look at what i found. All under 500$.

We are waiting for it the whole year. Since i am living in the northern hemisphere, we approximately calculate somewhat like 2-3 good weeks of summer. Well real summer i mean. The rest is usually a moody cocktail of cloudy, rainy, but sometimes also shiny weather, which makes you loose all of your optimism concerning wearing those satin leather slides you just got on a discount, but were still too expensive to tell your mum.
Of course going on holiday exists, but seriously, how long are you going to stay at that pool? Since there is no „i love to travel“ on my bio, this means 1-2 weeks.
Long story short. Go buy some stuff you can wear in summer, but ALSO in colder times.
1. Such as: a good midi skirt. Its a skirt right? So its providing you with air between your legs. That should be enough. Otherwise just wear some jeans beneath it, to make it weather appropriate. Some examples will follow.
2. Slides, you can also wear with socks. This does not suit to every kind of slide or mule in my opinion, but to most of them. Clash the styles, use thick wintery socks for your embroidered Dries Van Noten mules, wear shiny nylon socks with classic Slippers.
3. Sleeveless Tops. Even turtlenecks are in fact. And hey they would look great with that midi skirt and mules you just bought.
Wear an off-shoulder longsleeve top beneath it, when you’re scared of goose bumps.Or even a thick turtleneck, whatever you wear, it will look cool.

The last thing i learned in marketing class was to not get your buyers used to the sales season.
But since we all know, that sooner or later these favorite 4 letters will reach us from everywhere in our incoming mailbox, we tend to wait.
And thats ok, if not even a must sometimes. Since i have a quite strange style compared to the masses ( like all of us, who like to deal with fashion as religion) it is possible to find cool things still left on the shelves.
Some shops like mytheresa, style bop, modaoperandi and the everlasting one on the outnet. I tried to compromise some of my favourites, which should not be too trendy nor lame. I picked some out of Net-a-porter and Trademark ( which have incredibly good things on sale right now) as a little inspo.
Here we have a few nice buys from our Highstreet Favourites, which will still make us able to pay tuition for the coming semester and wear shoes. I have seen many of these on many blogs already, but still am sure you won’t see too many of these on the streets. Even if you are oversaturated with looks and products on blogs, you usually do not get to see them on the streets, so even if you’re like…oh man everyones wearing it right now…think well yes…everyone on your instagram newsfeed.
But everybody outside will still be like, oh god what is she wearing again, is she Peter Pan?
Well, yes, i surely am.
